Soulful Musings & Thoughts About Painting
"Mystical Marshlands" by Laura Gable

It was deep Winter.
We stood along this waterway
of the McNary Wetlands,
the marshy habitats are preserved
to encourage local and migratory birds
to come populate, and stop for a respite.
Goodness, the air was crisply cold,
yet still softly the reeds rustled nearby,
and the stealthy moon rose slowly
above the dusky lavendar cloud layer
hanging low on the horizon.
Fleeting and so enjoyable --
this time spent painting on location
with my friend.
